About Me
Ever since I was a little girl and first got my hands on a Brownie Hawkeye Flash camera and started creating little 3" x 3" snapshots of the world around me, I've been passionate about photography - despite hating having my own photo taken my whole life! (I generally try to fade into the background, and the most noticeable thing about me is probably my curly silver hair.)
I find beauty in simple, often-overlooked places, and my travels fuel my work, capturing quiet, soulful moments with fresh perspectives that invite pause and reflection. Besides all the usual photography subjects, I also have a weird fascination for photographing textiles drying on clothes lines, prints in sand (footprints, horseshoes, tire prints) , doors & windows, and odd reflections... most of which you won't find anywhere on this site.
When I'm not behind the lens, I cherish time with family and friends, and I adore nature, yoga, reading, volunteering, designing native landscapes, interior design, and turning life's messes into calm, organized spaces.
I'm mom to 4 grown children, all adopted from Asia, whom I love more than life itself... all such truly lovely human beings, thriving in and contributing to this world.
I was born and raised in Florida, USA. My career was in nursing, (30+ years), a mixture of cardiology, emergency medicine, and education, with a focus on diabetes education the last decade. Intermingled with that, I also co-owned/operated a B&B in historic Savannah, Georgia, USA, as well as co-owned a wood products import/export business in several states for 20+ years.
Explore my Gallery for images that speak to you. Feel free to reach out with any questions, comments, or special requests (I've uploaded only a small fraction of my 100,000+ photos - perhaps I have just what you're looking for in my archives). I'd love to connect with you.
ADDENDUM:
The rapid rise of AI art both fascinates and frightens me - not because the technology isn't impressive, but because I fear we're losing sight of what makes human creativity irreplaceable. Passion for preserving human artistry led me to create Three by Three: Guest Artists in Focus, a page on my website spotlighting the sacred work of fellow creators. Please check it out and support human artistry.
